Re: Rudder Foil Weight

Hi there I know Liam has both, just didn't want to take his rudders to bits just to get the weight of the foil.

Rudder Lock Roller Shoe

Hi, anyone know of a fix to stop the Aluminium Rudder Lock Roller Shoe's popping out after fitting.
To fit them you have to squeeze them in, but being aluminium they don't spring back into place.
One thought I had was to epoxy them in.

Answers on the back of a postcard please.

Hull Numbers and Date

While removing the deck to do some repairs to the transom, I found these markings.
I can only presume 1 is the date and hull number.
Any idea what the others are?
Underside of the back part of the deck Date and Hull Number?

Re: Rudder blades pop up

Sounds like a plan.
I bet if you went around our boat park 95% would be in the up position, that is the way they will be taken off and thrown under the cover. I know I do it.
Cheers Chris

Re: Rudder blades pop up

Update, thanks David, we have come up with a theory, or should I say Erling has. Over time the spring holding the rollers in position might have become soft. We are going to fit them with break fluid tubing, a bit thicker, hence hopefully putting a bit more pressure on the rollers. Then hey presto i...

Rudder blades pop up

The rudder blades keep popping up especially to windward. Have tried filing the slot a bit to let the rollers drop down further and tightened it all. A little better. It has only started since replacing the old aluminium pivots, washers etc. Could it be the springs getting a bit soft. Any help appre...

Re: Drastic action.

There was no mindless violence what so ever, both Erling and me like to play with grinders. In reply Bob it wasn't a serviceable top section it had a rather large bend in it, over the last few years we have tried to straighten it, Erling has even tried his total massive weight but to no effect. So i...

Drastic action.

Drastic action to get the two halves apart mas101.jpg , first we tried jarring it apart, then we used a turfer to try to pull them apart then get a grinder on it. When we eventually got it apart after Erling gave it a serious talking to, we then find it has a wooden plug. mast202.jpg Erling now need...

Re: One design Sprint 15

Hi Gordon yes we have introduced a Non-one-design sail for Sprint 15 but this sail can only be used for club racing at Shanklin Sailing Club, not Sprint 15 events, for that we have to use the Class Legal Sail.

Re: I don't like to brag but...

It was only a few years ago Ervin and I looked at each other and said 28 boats that is fantastic. Then we went up to 30. Now no one knows where their boat is. Mine is in a corner where it can't get out, as I can't sail for a while. Ervin's has had more parking spaces in the last few months than you ...
