Charles wrote: This is nothing to do with sailing, but came from my local Bobby, thought you might be interested, as it could save you a broken car & stolen GPS. The following works even if the unit is turned off:- IT HAS COME TO ATTENTION THAT IF YOU USE A MOBILE PHONE THAT HAS BLUE TOOTH AND ...

Robin Foster-Taylor [AndrewHannah]

AndrewHannah replied: George, your post about boats and kitchens reminds me of a friend of mine at Thorpe Bay. He is Robin Foster-Taylor. For some time, Robin had promised a new kitchen for his wife, Jane. Unfortunately, other priorities came to be in the way. Robin was rather taken by a Dart 18 th...

Travelling Sportsters [George Stephen]

George Stephen replied: I reckon that reasonably regular Sportsters are those that sail enough events for their series results not to include a DNS - for 2006 that meant 3 or more events. Trevor sailed 3 - hence his being "reasonably regular". David Casale and Robin Leather, with their fa...

Windsport Service [steve wilis]

steve wilis replied: I would also like to thank Brian and Cookie for their excellent and prompt service with my list of bits and pieces. A quick chat by phone to make sure what I actually needed and then ordered on line through their web site - 48 hours and it was all with me. Now the servicing beg...

Moving on [Trevor Bulmer-Jones]

Trevor Bulmer-Jones replied: Yes its true I am defecting to an A Class but I still should keep Steve in business and he is already stocking up on extra materials. I would also like to thank all the 15 sailors over the past three years for some great fun both on and off the water and hope to bump in...

NewSprint [AndrewHannah]

AndrewHannah replied: Terrific magazine Paul. I don't know how you do it. There were loads of spectacular photographs of how you should sail your boat and a few of how you shouldn't. I daresay George Love will remember his ride for as long as he lives! Once again, Phil Breeze was in top form with h...

Cover Postscript [Martin]

Martin wrote: Thanks for the advice guys. Windsport cover is not sitting on the boat and first impressions are excellent! One question though. What is the thinking behind having a neck for the mainsheet? What is the advantage of having the mainsheet attached (presumably to the halyard)? It doesn't ...

George Stephen replied:

Oh dear ! Does this mean that the only other (reasonably) regular sportster on the (summer) Traveller Series will no longer be competing? Or is Trevor getting a new(er) Sprint 15?

Seriously, if the address label was wrong, this means the database details are incorrect, from which the labels are generated, so if you don't want the same thing to happen with the next issue, please contact Andy Chidwick for him to am...

1575 [Bob]

Bob replied:

Hi Rob
Yes 1575 is OK. It is now a complete conversion and as such is indistinguishable from a regular Sprint 15. My comments were directed towards the Sting in it's original form. I miss understood your original request.
Cheers
Bob
PS Trevor applied the thum screws tonight!!

You can see the 2006-7 events listed in the navigation bar under Events 2006 to the left of the page.

Also Bob posted the 2007 summer calendar on the chat page, it has slipped onto page 2 already.

I'm sure our webmaster will update the Events listings shortly.
