Re: Grafham TT 20 March

Hi Liam,

I found this on the GWSC website :- http://www.grafham.org/wp-content/uploa ... 152016.htm.

It looks like the results for the day, but not the series results etc.

Be wary of IT gifts from me?

Re: What Trampoline do I have?

Hi, I think you'll get better advice if you can take a photo of the failed/failing track and a close-up of the trampoline bolt rope (including where it enters the folded round material) and somehow get them in a Chat message - it's surprising what ingenuity may be shown in the advice that might then...

Re: Datchet TT

The SD card has been confirmed dead by Linux, OS X, Windows 10, a camera and a printer. So I think it is dead. The said SD Card has arrived with me via Snail Mail, and is alive enough for me to open. There is clearly some very odd quirk with the card - apologies for this - had I taken it home with ...

Re: 2015/2016 Winter TT Series

Uncle Bob gave me the date, so its a English calendar. Not nice to pass the buck like that. I think Erling got the years confused. 22 March was the date for 2015. I have not yet been asked for 2016 but I'm on the case now. Cheers Bob Hi Liam, I think you should delete the erroneous 2016 Grafham Win...

Re: 2015/2016 Winter TT Series

Hi Liam,

Thanks for the early warnings, but some of us have a problem coping with that unusual Isle of Wight calendar you guys use!!!! My mainland paper and computer calendars show 22 March as a Tuesday....

Re: Stokes Bay Results

For those who couldn't go but want to know how this event is going, try http://www.stokesbay-sc.co.uk/result/open/sprint15.htm. At the time I copied and pasted the link it showed results of the first 3 races. I guess that this link will also show the final results later tomorrow, but if it doesn't t...

Re: Rudders

When looking at Ebay I found another Ebay ad for Dart 18 parts. It's a "bulk" sale of parts for which the seller is asking £1000, but indicates a willingness to split. The list of parts includes rudders, tiller conbar and tiller extension. The Dart 18 conbar will be too long for a Sprint 1...

Mainsheet and Blocks

The Ebay seller of the Dart 18 rudders is also selling other Dart 18 parts. The only other thing I spotted that might interest Sprinters is the mainsheet and mainsheet blocks assembly - see http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dart-18-race- ... 33a8540adc.

Re: Rudders

Hi Howard, For no explicable reason, when the Spark was designed the transoms were raked at a different angle to the transom of the Dart, despite the apparent intention to use Dart rudder assemblies and blades on the Spark (I would have expected the rudder blades would work best at the angle for whi...

Eurocat 2015, FF de Voile Classes

Both the initial race report and the latest Spring 2015 Newsprint article contain explanations as to why the Sprint 15 had been moved by FF de Voile from C4 to C3. Both state it is because FF de Voile had ruled that boats over 4.8 metres would be classed in C3. Taking measurements at the crudest lev...

Re: Sport Nationals 2015

Yaverland SBC was as welcoming as last year - great site and sailing area for a sailing club - helpful members - a great pity the sailing side isn't properly active any more. But hard going for an ailing ageing sailor like me - the soft sand and ramp from the beach to boatpark were far too much for ...

Re: Rumour about Erling

Erling's Sail As told by Erling, he capsized very close ahead of a following boat. It was so close that although its helm took avoiding action the following boat couldn't be steered quickly enough to leeward, with the result that one (or both?) of its rudders sliced through Erling's sail in the wat...

Bob'

Erling's improved since you retired.

And my opinion is in NO way influenced by his imminent (and eminent) presence on the Sport Nationals Committee Boat!

Re: Rumour about Erling

I'm looking forward to hearing a ripping yarn at Yaverland sometime over the weekend - it must have been due to something almost unbelievable for a good sailor like Erling to finish up with a sail looking like that!
