Re: Yachts and Yachting classes

Great stuff.
It also looks like we have been getting similar attendances to the Dart 18. Years ago they used to get double our Nationals attendance. These days it looks like we trade places to be top dog (cat).
Well done Jenny

Re: Stewartby Winter TT - 20th November

Looks like a good attendance and a good event.
My word I bet Ed was happy to beat his old boat (but only just  )
Well done to Scott for the rapid race report.
Regards
Bob
PS I'm not sure what happened to the Grafham sailors :(

Re: Grafham Cat Open Entry

So another 3 entries today makes a total of 37 Sprint 15 entries. This is the highest non Nationals attendance to the Grafham Cat Open since 2013. :)

Grafham Cat Open Entry

With just one day left to enter the Sprint 15s have got the fantastic entry of 34 boats (6 local and 28 visitors).
It looks like we dominate the entry list like normal. :D

International Moth World Championships

Did you see Kyle Stoneham was 35th?

Not bad considering the competition....

Re: Stone TT - Briefing doc and change to start time

Liam, Any idea why the detailed results do not include the top 5 places?
Cheers

Re: Club Course Preferences

Yes, agreed about the Olympic Course but it is more problematic if the Club does average lap time racing as it requires 2 passes of the committee boat to constitute one timed lap. Errors can easily occur. Grafham does predominantly average lap time racing as a wider range of boat speeds can be accom...

Re: Club Course Preferences

Hi Charles, That looks like too much windward - leeward to me. A Sprint 15 sailed una-rig is slow downwind and as it can go straight downwind it is not very tactical either. In my time as events secretary we avoided it. Nick maintained that going straight downwind also penalised the heavy weight sai...

Re: The Prada Cup and the Americas Cup

Mozzy is Tom Morris of Hayling Island sailing club. He is the current RS800 national champion. His 2 mates are also Hayling Island sailors. They are: Tom Partington who sails an International 14 with his dad. His dad (Andy) helms but they are multiple champions (Worlds, Nationals, and many other eve...

The Prada Cup and the Americas Cup

Sadly INEOS got knocked out of the Prada Cup but the best boat definitely won. Have you tried watching the Mozzy Sails posts on YouTube on the Americas Cup & Prada Cup? If you have not tried watching them watch this on Luna Rossa's tacks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNradCJBZ_U Mozzy Sails a...

Re: Nationals

And what's more: Save for the Unicorns who had 9 boats at their event, The Sprint 15 Class is the only catamaran class to run a 2020 nationals never mind two! Yes great attendances. A couple of classes did the same thing as us and held their Nationals at Grafham but their attendances were low. The ...

Re: Grafham Cat Open / Nationals entry opens tomorrow!

GWSC boats are not included in the pre-entry limitations so I'll enter later.. Hi Mark, I see that we are now at 48 entries. If you enter AND convince one other Grafham Sprint 15 to enter we would make 50, which gets us in the Y&Y's 50+ club. Do you know of any others you can lean on? Cheers Bob

Good show. If you enter that makes 50.
Just one place left for visitors so anyone else want to come?
