Re: Carsington Cat Open

Would any one from Carsington know if the club will be doing dinner on the Saturday evening of the event?

I've enjoyed that the last few years but I haven't seen any thing mentioned this year.

Re: Queen Mary Winter TT Saturday February 18th

This is for Jan

Picked up your hull stands from QM today, still sitting on their own in the boat park.

I'm not going to Carsington till next year, so I'm taking them to Grafham instead.

Re: Queen Mary Winter TT Saturday February 18th

Many thanks to everyone who braved the elements and turned up for an 'exciting / sometimes a bit scary' days sailing at Queen Mary on Saturday.
Well done to you all.
There's a report on Y & Y now, no doubt Martin will have it on here soon.

Best wishes
and see you at Grafham

Re: Draycote Water TT Saturday 7th Jan.

Yes Bob, you're right, I was asked to help out at Queen Mary's Bloody Mary (their major winter event) but obviously I had a duty to sail at Draycote... You could say George, Stewart and me helped out by making a bit of space for the 302 entries that turned up! Goodness knows how they all fitted in. ...

Re: Queen Mary TT

Mike / Robert

There won't be any problem if you want to sail 2 up or , infact you'd be very welcome as we dont often see that at QM.

The wording was kept simple, but all formats are welcome.

Re: Queen Mary TT

Erling, unless you're camping outside the gate, I intend to be there before you, and, hopefully I can keep that going all the way to the finish line! FYI. The NOR and SI's have been posted on the Queen Mary SC at the link below. I'm sure they'll be on our website soon, with Martin's help. http://www...

Re: Carsington TT Sat 5 February

As Ray had said earlier, it looked as if Carsington were feted this year not to get the event off the ground, and with this week's weather, so it turned out to be. But in sailing, you set a date and you have to hope the weather will play along. It's just the way it goes. This year's been more diffic...

Re: DX 15 at Stewartby

This discussion has certainly stirred up some differing views, Just want to chip in with a personal opinion. I've done a lot of events and have done for quite a long time now. If I ask myself, why keep doing it? what's the appeal ? For myself, I'd say there's 2 main reasons, a) the people in the cla...

Don't know if any one else saw this, but I read an article in the Times this week (Monday I think it was), regarding the dreaded "killer shrimp". Whilst this shrimp is giving us sailors some inconvenience, according to the article, it's very serious for the angling fraternity. Seems they'r...

To Ray and George I know it's difficult to change things like this, but thanks for making the decision in good time. I was planning on making the journey and there's nothing worse than waiting till the last minute, not knowing what to do. When the new date is decided, I'm sure I'll be there. Happy C...

George Just to let you know, Martin delayed changing over the Treasurer's contact details at my request because it takes a little while and quite a few bits of paper to be sent to the bank for this to actually change over. I'm sure in a very short while this will be changed over and I'm sure Howard ...

If I could turn this topic around the other way, so to speak. Any one know the class legal position on using less purchases on the mainsheet block in light winds if you wanted to? By that I mean not using all the available rollers. To me, more purchases equals more leverage but less feel, which can ...
