Re: Attention:- Rutland event this weekend coming!!!!

Thaks, Simon. I thought there would be good reasons for both Paul and Kevin (and others!) missing the last 2 races, but couldn't resist the temptation to do some winding up....

Re: Attention:- Rutland event this weekend coming!!!!

If you look at the detailed results : http://www.rutlandsc.co.uk/results/2015/Sailwave%20results%20for%20RSC%20Catamaran%20Open%202015%20at%20Rutland%20Sailing%20Club%202015.htm you will see that Paul Craft also missed the last 2 races, up to which point he was in 2nd place - ahead of both Chris and...

Robin, Try http://www.rya.org.uk/sitecollectiondocuments/legal/Web%20Documents/Legal%20Leaflets/Members%20Advice/Trailing/TRAILING%20AND%20ROOF%20RACKING%20THE%20RULES%20AND%20REGULATIONS.pdf I'd proceed as follows, being a bit on the prudent side: Tie the mast on the roof rack so that about the sam...

Re: CARNAC UPDATES

Hi Gordon, It looks as though the YCCarnac website (English version at least - I haven't been able to get into and then stay in the Francais version) is showing only the Saturday results on http://www.yccarnac.com/files/Documents/Regate/Eurocat/Resultats/C3/overall%203%20courses%20C3.pdf, with Frida...

Re: Hot Cakes?

There's 4 on Appollo Duck now. 2 of the over-priced boats are being sold by Jonti, who I believe to be the Chandlery at Grafham; both boats are shown on a road trailer, and the older boat has DX and standard class sails, but surely neither of these "extras" are worth the money. 1402, being...

Re: Seasalter "Here We Come"

Steve, I realise you've said the NoR will be available soon, but will the Saturday 1st Race be starting at 12:00hrs (ie standard Sprint15 Summer Traveller start time) or do the tides mean a different, esp earlier, start time? I'm ok at the moment, so I am really keen to sail at Seasalter as my first...

Re: Trailer Tyres / Tyres and Wheels

Thanks to all, especially Steve. For info, the email I got from Autow quotes the same load and speed ratings as Steve, so they haven't changed tyre spec since Steve's purchases. Having checked my tyres more closely, I have one really good tyre (carried as a spare until a few years ago, one good enou...

Re: Trailer Tyres / Tyres and Wheels

Hi All, Tyres for cars, light vans and light trucks and the ilk use a standard coding of the ilk 145/80 X10 74N. 145 is tread width in mm, 80 is the tyre wall height as % tread width (and if it is omitted it is 80 or possibly 82). X=R means radial ply construction, X=B means bias belt construction -...

Re: Sport Nationals

Hi Liam,

Last time we sailed the Sport Nationals at Yaverland we were able to camp at the Club. Do you know if this is going to be an option this year?

Re: Trailer Tyres / Tyres and Wheels

I used to use Towsure as well but have found Autow warehouse have a more comprehensive range. They do complete 145 wheels and tyres by mail order you just need to know whether your hubs have a grease nipple - which requires a slot in the centre of the wheel rim - when ordering - and the spacing / n...

Trailer Tyres / Tyres and Wheels

Does anyone know either a supplier/fitter of inexpensive Mini tyres for my trailer wheels or a supplier of complete tyres and wheels (which might be cheaper given a check I did years ago!)?

Re: Road bases/trailers

Hi Simon, There's probably a small plate on your trailer that shows the manufacturer, loading limits, and with a bit of luck the trailer name/type under which is was sold. All useful to have to hand when you phone the manufacturer to see if they can advise you as to the bearing that was fitted origi...

Re: Datchet Saturday 7 February

Good to read the race report so promptly after the event. Also that the reporter was too far away to have seen my boat handling error that enabled Paul to overtake me at the start of the last fetch to the finish of the second race! If he had been closer I might not have got his very kind mention - i...
