Re: Starting Rules

Thanks for your lively debate gents.

Looking back, I can't quite see how Jason had his rudders hard over as he appeared to be moving faster than I was & in a straight line...

... Anyway, he knows not to windward of me on the start line again, if he's read this 😁.

Re: Starting Rules

That's an interesting point Liam. I would have said Jason was only 2 to 3 feet in front of me. On our boats I would think the pivot point is further aft than on a centreboard boat. If you have only 4" overlap though that is still overlap, there aren't different rules for the amount of overlap, ...

Starting Rules

Hi All At the Draycote Winter TT, 1st start, Jason & I had a fairly gentle coming together. We had a difference of opinion on right of way & following discussion on dry land agreed to do some reading up. My perception is:- Prior to the start Jason was to windward of me. I hailed 'Windward' &...

Re: Back to Dart.

Hi Derik

I partially agree with your view on the logo. The Dart insignia still makes sense as it's a representation of the boat and links with the 18. The lettering does feel rather dated though.

Hi Peter

Where are the holes? Are they at fixing holes? Can you post pictures?

Re: Sport Nationals

Great event, as ever, many thanks to all at NDYC and we'll done to Liam for bagging the double as well as everyone who got a glass (not stole it from the bar!) and especially to the first timers.

Looking forward to seeing you all again on the circuit.

Re: Sport Nationals

Looking forward to it, there must have been a last minute rush as I signed up about 8 last night and I'm not at the end of the list! 34 so far is a decent turn out. Other than some curious N Devon bar games in the club what are people thinking of doing to while away the afternoons? Shall we take pus...

Visiting Brighton...

Hi All

I'm visiting a friend in Brighton around the Bank Holiday 2-5 June. I'll just have my Seahopper on the Roof (7'6" folding Mirror effectively). Where are the places to sail from or scab a crewing job?

Re: Club Course Preferences

Thanks for the feedback Liam, Bob, Brian & Jenny. That's more or less what I expected you to say. The Asy fleet at YDSC seem to hold a bit too much sway, particularly as they usually make up less than half the fleet. It seems rather selfish that they get the fun legs for them but force non-asy b...
