Re: Off to Cornwall for some sailing in the morning

Thanks for the positive feedback. More sailing tomorrow as there has been a distinct lack of wind today :-( Tomorrow and Sunday are a big family gathering at St Mawes so I'll be giving some nephews and nieces rides :-) But again very light winds. Sunday and Monday look a lot better with gusts up to ...

Re: Off to Cornwall for some sailing in the morning

I'm about to edit some video but will wait for WiFi before uploading. To wet your appetite here is a photo as we were on the King Harry Ferry heading to Pascoes Boatyard at St Just in Roseland (£5 a day for launching and storage for visitors with an honesty box). Much easier launching than at Mylor ...

Re: Off to Cornwall for some sailing in the morning

Check out my sail on Strava: https://www.strava.com/activities/813894577/shareable_images/map_based?hl=en-GB&v=1482941413 Absolutely beautiful, first went to the beach at St Mawes where Jane brought me a coffee and pasty. Sat in the sun to enjoy that. Then just blasting around the harbour, force...

Off to Cornwall for some sailing in the morning

So our Sprint 15 is loaded on the car roof, all the spares inside the caravan. In the morning we are heading down to Cornwall. Camping close to Carnon Downs, hoping to keep the Sprint at St Just in Roseland as we will be spending time with family staying in St Mawes. Looks like some nice days later ...

Re: Newsprint is Dead!!!, long live e-Newsprint???

George has given me almost ten years' worth of Newsprint copies in PDF format. I have compressed them and uploaded them to http://www.sprint15.com/magazine.php They are available to all without a password. There were already a few copies on this site but they were password protected previously. The...

Once I had sorted the mainsheet for the last race they got a bit of a rest.

That was handy because I was in better shape to enjoy the beautiful stew afterwards. I was really impressed with the food and the organisation. All very professional and friendly.

Stewartby Racing

I had a great time yesterday! Definitely the strongest winds I've sailed our Sprint 15 in. I've made a bit of a video (no claims about how good it is) https://youtu.be/TMTiDll9tnM it is carefully edited to show some people behind me and avoids most of my mistakes for example getting the mainsheet an...

Re: Stewartby on Saturday!

Hoping to be there, although I won't know until sometime on Friday if I am needed for a work meeting on Saturday. and if I do make it then I'm going to be super fast cos I've just cleaned, pre-waxed and polished both hulls! I have got rid of quite a bit of yellow colouring but not all. Worryingly t...

Re: Newsprint is Dead!!!, long live e-Newsprint???

This sounds a great option! I think you should load all the old magazines up to the Internet. They are no good hidden away. Being visible to the world will only advertise the class and encourage new people in. Newsprint is an outstanding resource. Hold back the newest if that is what is believed why...
