Another Laser sailor conveted !

Pleased to let everyone know that at our Club in sunny Seaford we now have another Sprint 15 !!!!! Following some interest shown by an established Laser sailor, I took him for a sail, let him take the helm and less than 30 mins later, he had a huge grin and vowed to sell his Laser and buy a Sprint 1...

Re: Mast Floats

Guys, great comments, to be fair, we do not have ANY Catamaran Instructors and you are correct, the Powerboat instructors and crew in most cases do not have clue. Last year I volunteered to capsize and invert my Dart 15 for others to practice and learn, but we did not have a huge turnout, but it was...

Mast Floats

A question came up at our Safety Boat Workshop last night regarding whether the Catamarans at our Club should have Mast Floats fitted as part of the membership, I have read through some of the older threads previously posted on line, but most refer to how to right from invert, but I think the discus...

Anyone know of the Hellcat 12 ?

We have just acquired the above from a member who has failed to pay their berthing fees, but it is not in too good a condition, who makes it and where can spares be obtained ? we want to use it as part of our Clubs RYA Level 1 & 2 Training as an intro into Catamaran sailing for those who have no...

Notice Board Info- Catamarans

I have volunteered to be the Catamaran Fleet Captain at Seaford Sailing Club for the 2011 season, we have a mix of 7 Dart 18's, 1 16, 2 15's, 1 14, one Stealth F16 and 3 Hobbie 16 (of course I want the biase towards Dart 15), unfortunately, we do not seem to get more than 5 of the Fleet out at the s...

Thanks Charles, "under canvassed" I will see how many times I can use it at the bar after racing in light winds ! Although I am sure I can point to Skipper at fault, but you have given me plenty to think about, much appreciated.

Sailing in light winds- any tips?

I know the obvious tip is not to bother, but even on the South Coast in sunny Seaford, we sometimes get light winds ! I have looked at the tips shown on this web site, but I still seem to struggle in keeping up anywhere close to the Dart 18's in our club . Does anyway have anything to add that works...

Very Good point, so, I have just finished off some posters for the notice boards at the club and handouts letting members know it is on Ebay. (my commisson rates for the sale will be waived, should it remain at Seaford !) I have also offered a trial sail for those not sure if it for them to convince...

Yet another Sprint15 on Ebay

So this is what it looks like, never seen it with the mast up in the last X number of years. I have often read on the forum the disappointment of other 15 owners in the same sailing club when 15 are purchased by others and the boat moves home, I now understand the feelings, with just myself and Jayc...

Anyone else seen this ?

Hi all, Iam the "other 15" that Jaycb has mentioned on previous posts, thought it was time to share experiences and questions with other members having been a member for the past 12 months and still a novice Dart 15 sailor. Charles, it will be great to welcome you to our club and hopefully...
