Re: Drastic action.

Many of the fiberglass sleeves being used were made when the boat was a single hander with no jib or trapeze or extra down haul purchase. Re: window in mainsail

Hi , As with many things there are + & - to adding a window. The original design did not include a window to deliver max durability. I understand the class association updated the rule to allow a window as a optional visual safety feature. Whilst a window will provide a limited amount of improve...

Re: Rudder repair

Hi Derek, if you give me call we can chat through a few things to check before fitting the pintle repair kit and how best to reassemble. When repairing glass work it is worth knowing that the resins used to laminated Sprint 15 hulls and rudder blades is polyester based. Epoxy will glues and resins w...

Re: problems in assembling my mast

Hi Keith, not sure why the mast sleeve its self would suddenly expand, but as it has you are properly safe to sand it down to the glass , ie remove the gelcoat surface . It is possible if water gets into the resin it can expand the laminate. If you need to go further we would suggest you do a few be...

Re: Queries from: Keeping your hulls on-line

Hi, 10mm difference over 15ft is not a lot and will make even less difference when one hull is out the water. If you want to align your hulls you pack either the main beam or rear beam thrust pads depending on what you are truing to achieve. Hull alignment is interesting but constructive time on the...

Of course you will need to be a Sprint 15 class association member, but then all S...

Re: Halyard locking

Hi all, Not sure why there should be any measureable difference the only thing that has changed over the years is the length of the actual hook . In the early years using the old sail material the hook was shortened by 5mm to help make it easier to disengage. When the sail material was upgraded the ...
