Re: My old Laser a Torch

When i first saw the article i thought it was a wind up, but it does explain the lack of a Laser stand at the dinghy show, all their stuff being promoted by sailboats, and tucked away in the corner of Alexander Palace. I find it a little sad as i've grown up with the Laser, Laser Centre, visited the...

My old Laser a Torch

Blimey, seems the Laser Centre (or whatever they are called now), can't manage their golden goose. If the Rooster blog is correct they havn't been paying their dosh to Bruce Kirby and so have lost the right to manufacture, promote and sell the 'Laser', so my 30yr old model used on light wind days to...

Re: Draycote Winter TT Sat. 5th Jan.

Hi Robert

Good stuff, especially on a cold night in N Wales. How did you mount the camera on your head? I've got a Kodak mini video camera but no clamps or straps to stick it safe on the boat.

Class legal jibs

Looking at the SS Marine web site last night and noticed Steve sells CAWS jibs, which are indicated as 'not class legal'. I purchased my main and jib through the class association (8-9 years ago) and was supplied with a Caws jib, although the main is past its best now the jib has hardly been out of ...

Hi Robert

I'll have to wait until the new fixture list is published. I can have a word with the sailing captain (now I'm on the committee).

Re: Embryonic Sprint 15 fleet at Llandudno SC

We had a Welsh open a couple of years back at Cardiff Bay, would be nice to give it another go at Llandudno if there was a bit of support. I've sailed at the club for two seasons now and thoroughly enjoyed it. Like most mixed fleet clubs the Sprint struggles in light airs against the mono-hull dingh...

Sail and Tramp service/repair

Hello all,

Can anyone recommend a sail loft in the North West who can service my main sail and tramp. My 'local' Hyde agent is in Newcastle, quite a long way from North Wales....

Regards

Re: Boat drop off at Nationals

Well it's blowing a gale in North Wales at the moment, this afternoons rain put an inch of water in the food recycling box left outside to "dry off", after the weekly collection. It looks like East is going to be best this coming weekend. Busy day tomorrow, pack up the boat and gear plus c...

Re: Boat drop off at Nationals

The BBC forecast says very warm for the weekend, so don't forget your hat, sun screen (high factor), lip balm, water bottles and insect spray for those camping. Sun stroke is nasty and can have you layed up for days. Now I have said all that bet it poors down!

Oh yes been there, my two girls are old enough to enjoy a nice hotel in Yorkshire with mum while dad slums it in a tent for three nights.

Re: Embryonic Sprint 15 fleet at Llandudno SC

Always thought Llandudno SC would make a good venue for the nationals, we have to get our new slipway sorted to handle a big event, but the existing jetty can handle thirty boat competitions no problem.
