Social/Fun Sailing Trip to Windsport, Falmouth

Post by George Love »

Just to update the S15 Community - a few of us have arranged a trip to Windsport for a week or so from Sunday 30 August to do a bit of distance socialising on and off the water. The idea came for Brian after our Nationals were cancelled. (I note also that the Dart 18 Nationals due to be held at Windsport in early September have also been cancelled due to Covid.)
Presently there are 4 boats confirmed - Pauline and I, Ray Gall, Sam and Laura, all from Carsington and Ed and Sarah from Draycote.
Is anyone interested in joining us?
There is room to accommodate approx. another 6 boats.
There is no specific format and it is very much an ad hoc arrangement but will include a bit of cruising sailing around Carrick Roads and any other activities on and off the water as the mood takes us - perhaps a bit of kayaking, paddle boarding, coast walks, etc., etc.
If you wish to be based at Windsport, you will need to be self sufficient which effectively means a motorhome. Alternatively, it would be finding a B&B, AirBNB or a campsite. Note that camping can't be accommodated on site at Windsport but motorhomes are OK. (Those already 'signed up' have rented locally sourced motorhomes which the company supplying are delivering to us at Windsport from nearby Truro.)
If you'd like to come along and join the party, just let me know by email: george.love@icloud.com and I can answer any questions you might have and/or provide more details.
Stay safe... 8)

George, that's a great idea. We all had such a fantastic time last year.
IF our trip to France in late August is canned by Boris, we will come. We probably wont know until quite near time though.

Big thank you to all at Windsport International for making our covid safe sailing touring vacation a fantastic success, also thanks to my touring colleagues for a fun packed week both on and off the water, sailing, kayaking, walking and lots of reflection of the day activities in the evening with some social distancing alcoholic celebrations  It was so good I have booked already for 2021 8)
