Leaking mast

Any tips on where to look for a leak on a 2 section mast
The bottom section is filling with water just from rainfall
When the section was removed it looked as though water ran out of the top section once the mast was down
I did try to fix it last year but drilling lots of holes to find how to get the water out is not ideal
