Carsington Winter TT "Invasive Shrimp" notification

Post by ray.gall »

Notification to ensure that all competitors who will be attending the Carsington Winter TT February 5th understand requirements for visiting boats reference the issue of “Invasive Freshwater Shrimp”.

The Severn Trent / CSC Policy is:

All visiting boats must be washed / hose down (hulls, decks, rudders & trailer) regardless of where they have come from prior to arrival at Carsington sailing Club.

Carsington SC has no washing facilities for visiting boats as all run-off water will flow into the reservoir.

All visiting boats will be inspected for cleanliness at the club gates.
Visiting competitors will be required to confirm that they have cleaned their boat by signing a declaration on their entry form at registration as indicated below:

• I confirm that boat and trailer has been cleaned & washed since being on the water at another location before bringing it on to site at Carsington SC

Look forward to seeing you all for the third round of the 2010/11 Winter TT

There is a slim chance I may be able to attend my inaugural Carsington event (tow bar allowing..).

All GWSC boats have to be washed down before leaving site and there are various wash stations with an independent water supply.

Will try to attend..

Ray,

Your posting and the CWSC website refers to boats and "trailers" - do you mean trolleys rather than trailers, or as well as trailers (to be sure....).

PS Won't know if I am able to come until "last minute" - as usual.

George

Thanks for your query, visitors need to wash down their launching / recovery system in our case it is the launching trolley and not the trailer.
Apologies to all for not being explicit, but the forms were generic and I missed the possible ambuguity with this statement.

Hope you can make the event,

Cheers
