It's about that time when I'm starting to pull together the articles for the next issue of your favourite Mag. and see what I've got in the folder marked for publishing. At present,I have the usual event reports and one or two other bits and pieces. BUT - in the interests of making the magazine span a wide appeal - I could do with a few more items of general interest away from the racing scene. For example, the "Up a Lazy River" story in the last issue by Simon Rowell really hit the spot for me. A few other suggestions might include:
-Hints and tips
-What's happening at your club or local scene
-Your favourite place to sail
-something from our members outside the UK
-anything amusing or scurrilous tittle tattle in either written or picture form
-have you recently joined the Assoc.? What's your first impressions?
-anything of historical importance or interest
These are just a few ideas. The Mag. is very much what you make it and I get a great deal of pleasure in putting it together especially when I have a wide range of articles to work with. It's also good to be able to include anything that's not previously been covered on the website. I'm also happy to develop any ideas from a few initial words and pics. if you're short of time - we all lead very busy lives.
There's also still time to enter the 'Caption Competition' in the last issue - see page 35 in the Autumn 2010 edition
As ever, the usual place to send stuff is: newsletter@sprint15.com
Here's hoping and standing by-
