Sorry to have been delayed in putting up the Notice of Race for the Seasalter TT. I have now e-mailed it to Martin Searle to put on this website and the SSC website.
Just to give you a heads up first race on Saturday 21st will start at about 12:30 and on Sunday at about 12:55 (two races each day).
Arrivals on Friday (or before - one traveller boat has already arrived, well done Derek) then let me know and I will arrange for access. The club and bar will be open on Friday evening as usual.
We are hoping to have the majority of our Sprints out - except four of us on duty. We look forward to seeing you. I will post any messages re weather etc on the Wednesday or Thursday.
Steve
PS: I have been asked, by his family, to sell Tim Seymour's boat (1923) and it will be at the club over the TT weekend for anyone to have a look over (or any other time by arrangement with me). I will be putting an advert up on this site in a few days.
Due to the ferry company wanting £80 for me to come up on the Friday but only £50 if I lose sleep on the Saturday, I will miss the bar entertainment Friday.
1 Buy a second car and leave on mainland and sail across the Solent.
2 Have a second car and boat on mainland and travel as a foot passenger
3 Live on the mainland.
looks like reasonable SW winds but possibly some showers for the weekend. It hasn't been too bad here over the last few days with long gaps between showers. We will see.
Anyone who is 'probably' or 'likely' to come - an indication would be helpful for Lesley who is doing the food shopping on Friday.
Noted Simon, Erling, Stuart Snell and Derek Darley have already put their hands up. I am hoping for 8-12 of our boats on the water but four of us are duty team in the tower / committee boat.
Anyone wanting to arrive before 5pm on Friday let me know by phone or on this forum and we can arrange to have someone at the club - after that the bar will be open until late. The field is cut and cleared ready !
I'm coming Steve, might make it down tomorrow night won't be until about 9 pm though. Just questioning my sanity though with my thoughts of sleeping in a tent.
If the weather is bad / cold we let people sleep in the club room as long as they don't mind the early breakfast team disturbing them. Some sleep in their cars.
Thanks Simon, glad you enjoyed it - you are even featured in the Yachts and Yachting Report photos that are now on their web magazine (wrongly attributed to Bob C but there you go). They did not use all the photos I sent but got the important ones - my thanks to Y&Y for getting it up so quickly.
Congratulations to Stuart Snell, Erling Holmberg and Kevin Dutch. In addition congratulations to Roger Ackroyd for gaining 4th overall on his first ever Sprint 15 event four weeks after attending the training weekend with his newly acquired 1715.
Thanks to everyone who came and endured both the fickle weather and my poor first race course on Sunday - wind changed honest! Thanks also to the 20 odd members of SSC who turned out to run the event and Katy for attending with the Windsport International trailer.
At least the big hailstones waited until the boats were ashore.
Caroline Pomeroy on one of the patrol boats took a lot of photos on the Saturday and I managed some from the balcony on Sunday so I will get them to Martin as soon as I can.
