And here is another one for sale ..........

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280869943312? ... 1438.l2649

But it does not look like we are short of second hand boats on our website at present.

Cheers

A year ago, Thorpe Bay members were busilly buying Sprints as they became available. We now have a "sufficient" number, whereby much of the re-cycling is in-house. Of the nine boats that have changed hands in the last twelve months, seven have been recycled, one bought on e-bay, and one bought via the association website. Perhaps this might explain why boats for sale are stacking up.

At present, we don't have any for sale. So if another TB Sprint does not come available, we may look to the website.

Hi Andrew,
I think it is just the time of the year when boats get put up for sale. They are selling too - I have been away for 3 weeks and 5 have been bought over that period. I know that Thope Bay & Shanklin are sort of up to their capacity but there are several other Clubs that are building. Stewartby is currently building members quickest and it looks like Simon Hare and Stuart Pagum are getting things going at Oxford. It would be good if Rutland could be stirred into life but it takes one keen guy to act as a nucleus - do you have a brother in the Rutland area?

I'm sure you're right, Bob. I'm very hopeful that some of the boats will sell pretty quickly. Some have been keenly prices by sellers, which is in the spirit of the class. We should thank them for it. Recession or not, these boats will soon sell.

Driving your fleet.

1) Elect a fleet captain. He will sit on the sailing committee and will bring some influence.

2) If your fleet is very small, sail two-up with a jib. When the time is right, suggest to him that he buys a Sprint to race against each other.

3) Be on the look out for anyone who cannot find a crew for his own type of boat. And any Laser sailor who complains about the hiking!

Andrew.
