Boat drop off at Nationals

Post by Neil Parkhurst »

is there any facility to drop the boats off on Thursday afternoon. My mum and Dad are towing the boats down then and were wondering if this is possible.

Neik,

I'd try contacting the Club - the NoR shows info@sailbrightlingsea.com.

If you look at the Club Website - Racing Calendar - it shows an event is taking place on Thursday, but the high tide time is midday and when this event finishes and people have gone home is anybody's guess. I couldn't see a clubhouse phone no on their website, but you might find one....

Thankyou George the number worked and I spoke to a very nice lady who said " yes I can, but then will need to move the boat on Friday afternoon" but thats ok. We are staying on the caravan site which is apparently very close to where the boats are being kept behind the council car park.

The BBC forecast says very warm for the weekend, so don't forget your hat, sun screen (high factor), lip balm, water bottles and insect spray for those camping. Sun stroke is nasty and can have you layed up for days. Now I have said all that bet it poors down!

Hi Kevin,

We had most of our rain before St Swithun's Day, so we should be OK. That's if you're superstitious!

Well it's blowing a gale in North Wales at the moment, this afternoons rain put an inch of water in the food recycling box left outside to "dry off", after the weekly collection. It looks like East is going to be best this coming weekend. Busy day tomorrow, pack up the boat and gear plus collect daughters A-level results with resulting university place stress. Anyone else in the same position hope the exam results go the way you want.

Kevin - Yes, Jacob now has his A Level results and will be sailing too..

Let's hope that wind finds it's way down for the next three days!

Forecast temperatures in the mid to high 20s suggest that there ought to be a sea breeze from noon (if not earlier) ..... for which I doubt that wind forecasts made by Windguru et al make much, if any, allowance.
