Neil Parkhurst wrote:I know I'm sad, but looking again at the weather for the weekend it now looks exactly same as for Carsington ie Sunny and no wind for Saturday and rainy and windier on Sunday.

I notice in the NOR that sailing will not commence if less than 3 mph over course area, if we change it to 2 mph we might be able to sail Saturday instead of standing about.

I think Kevin you need to start praying to your wind gods.

Oh thee of little faith. I see that the Windguru forecast is increasing for Saturday.

Anyone know about the grubguru? (strangely quiet at the moment :? ).

Simon,
They are not locked on the Friday night before an Open Meeting to allow people to drop off their boats late Friday night.

Enjoyed seeing everyone again and chewing over the fat - especially with Erling, who was very keen to keep up to date with recent developments. Really liked the format of this event, even though it was sad that the F18's were absent. Would have been nice to see more Dart 18's. Chris Duffin from Beaver sailed a Dart 16 well - wonder if he might consider getting a 15 again as his craft belonged to his crew? Perhaps Team Beaver could persuade him.

Mark: if I'd known you were thinking of coming aboard I would have had a bottle of champagne handy to to crack over your bows.

Just fancy - driving to Italy to pick up a new boat worth mega bucks and then smashing it into one of his chums head on. :?
Thank goodness that neither boat was damaged

Happily the Grafham Cat Open went really well. 6 races sailed, tight competitive sailing, efficient organisation, etc. For those that stayed the club layed on an excellent 2 course meal for £9.50 on the Saturday evening yet we got just 17 people stay for the meal out of more than 60 who took part in the sailing. This is very disappointing - especially since our bar prices are 2/3 of those at the local pub. If we only get this sort of attendance for our Saturday evening meal it will be difficult to keep the caters interest. It is really good to socialize on the Saturday night. Any ideas why so few people stayed for the food?

George Love offered to pay our bar bill if we went to his hotel to eat. He really fancied a bath and the staff there were quite good looking. Sorry Bob.

Now, Robert - you know that's being a little economical with the truth. As I recall, you rang me to tell me you and a few others were coming to the pub next door to my gaffe for something to eat so I could stay put and join you. And while I was relaxing in the bath, you arrived early and racked up a bar bill on my room no. which only came to light the following morning on checkout! I think perhaps you had too much to drink (at my expense) to remember the truth

Ah well, if you put it that way, but if you will stay in room number 999... Sorry George, I owe you a drink after that slight accident. Worse still, Bob now knows the truth. :(

Ah yes - Well that'll teach me to take a drink and drop the stick. I really wasn't planning to gybe nor to say such a prompt 'hello' to Robert despite the rumour of booze on board. Fortunately as Bob says there's no damage - that's the beauty of wave piercing bows and a light boat!!

Robert - I'll let George buy you a(nother) drink to celebrate our coming togther.

Thanks to those who looked concerned for not taking the rise too much although most certainly operator error...

Good to see so many SP 15's out in the various formats and look forward to seeing you at the Winter 2012/13 events.
