Post by Kevin Parvin »

Up to three Sprints at Llandudno, maybe time for a North Wales traveller.

Always thought Llandudno SC would make a good venue for the nationals, we have to get our new slipway sorted to handle a big event, but the existing jetty can handle thirty boat competitions no problem.

I have just seen this post (a little late I know - just spending a bit of time perusing!!)

If a few boats were interested I would certainly attend, official TT or otherwise. Llandudno is well known for appealing to the more mature end of society so it should suit our fleet well. (I'll be in trouble for that comment I think).

We had a Welsh open a couple of years back at Cardiff Bay, would be nice to give it another go at Llandudno if there was a bit of support. I've sailed at the club for two seasons now and thoroughly enjoyed it. Like most mixed fleet clubs the Sprint struggles in light airs against the mono-hull dinghies, I have a 30yr old Laser 72630 for those days. The club organises several trophy days, three races back to back, and this is where the Sprint excels. Two of these events are longer distance, and tagging a Sprint event on one such weekend could work well.

Anyone up for it?

A few Sprints racing at Llandudno sounds great to me, whether as part of some other event or otherwise. I suppose fixing the date is going to be the only problem.

Hi Robert

I'll have to wait until the new fixture list is published. I can have a word with the sailing captain (now I'm on the committee).
