My old Laser a Torch

Post by Kevin Parvin »

Blimey, seems the Laser Centre (or whatever they are called now), can't manage their golden goose. If the Rooster blog is correct they havn't been paying their dosh to Bruce Kirby and so have lost the right to manufacture, promote and sell the 'Laser', so my 30yr old model used on light wind days to keep up with the optimists will now be called a 'Kirby Torch'.

When i first saw the article i thought it was a wind up, but it does explain the lack of a Laser stand at the dinghy show, all their stuff being promoted by sailboats, and tucked away in the corner of Alexander Palace. I find it a little sad as i've grown up with the Laser, Laser Centre, visited the factory at Banbury, owned two Lasers a Taser + the Sprint. Whats gone wrong??
