Marconi TT

Post by WaveyDavey »

The Marconi TT is just around the corner on 12th & 13th April. The NOR and event info has been posted today.

There will be 3 races round the cans on Saturday, and a longer race around Osea and Northey islands (approx course here) on Sunday.

There's free camping on Saturday night, catering all weekend from the galley and a meal on Saturday evening. The bar will be open from 5pm Saturday too.

If you have any questions you can contact Kevin Dowley, our class captain and chief organiser (details are in the NOR), or post here.

See you there.

The Windsport support trailer plans to be there, to provide that unique class support. We look forward to seeing new sailors joining the fleet for 2014 and those who travel annually to enjoy some great racing.

Hi Steve,
Unfortunately camping is only available on the Saturday night due to local authority regulations (we are only permitted a fixed number of camping nights per year which are set in January).

However, there is a pub that runs a small camp site in the village just before the sailing club access road where you could camp on Friday night. From there it would only be a few minutes drive on Saturday morning:
The Star Inn
The Street, Steeple, CM0 7LF
Tel: 01621 772646
http://www.starsteeple.co.uk

I expect the Star would be happy for you to park your boats up beside the Motorhome, but if you'd like to get them on to the club site on Friday evening then we can arrange for someone to meet you. Let me know.
Cheers
David

Hi Simon,

Windguru says Westerly F3-4 on Saturday, and Westerly F2 on Sunday:
http://www.windguru.cz/int/index.php?go ... fhours=180

Local BBC weather says 14C and dry with sunny spells on both days:

This is pretty good for early April and should be a fine start to the TT series. Hope you can make it.

Thanks again to everyone who came along and supported the TT at Marconi SC this weekend.

I've posted a short compilation of clips from the footage I captured on Saturday. The camera was mounted on my transom facing backwards so my ugly mug doesn't feature for a change :D
