Stewartby Racing

Post by dave42w »

I had a great time yesterday!

Definitely the strongest winds I've sailed our Sprint 15 in.

I've made a bit of a video (no claims about how good it is) https://youtu.be/TMTiDll9tnM it is carefully edited to show some people behind me and avoids most of my mistakes for example getting the mainsheet and traveller rope knotted around the tiller extension as you round the mark to start the beat is not a good idea! ;-)

I'll be back for the next Saturday race in the series.

Once I had sorted the mainsheet for the last race they got a bit of a rest.

That was handy because I was in better shape to enjoy the beautiful stew afterwards. I was really impressed with the food and the organisation. All very professional and friendly.

I will put the scores on when I get a proper copy.

Well done to Paul who won all three races and to the Finch brothers who pushed him all the way.

I hope the report writer has taken note of all the capsizes from some top sailors.

Great day out - many thanks Stewartby. You always seem to turn on the wind. Yesterday you'd just cranked it up a notch too many for me but I did enjoy some of the less vicious gusts and my little swim was most refreshing.
I've got quite a few hurty bits this morning :!:
