Weymouth Nationals

Post by Andy P »

We definitely need to book some wind for the Nationals at the moment. A can of baked beans won’t be enough. Hopefully the weather people are wrong again. Looking forward to meeting everyone again.

BBC and Met Office forecasts are much more encouraging than Windguru.

Unfortunately encouraging wind for Liam equates to a sparrows fart. In any event all the best to all competitors and enjoy!

Congratulations to Stuart Snell for winning the National Championship again. The rest of the places are to be raced for in a single, 9th race today if there is any wind.

Results are on the same link as the first day.

Will add the results to this site when I get home.

Congratulations to Stuart Snell for becoming our 2018 National Champion, to Jenny Ball for coming second, Liam Thomfor third and to Hector Bunclark for first Junior.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the event and for making it such a memorable occasion. We were lucky that we had enough wind to complete 8 very closely fought races on the first two days, even if we had to abandon racing on the third day.

Corr, lots of wishful thinking and very few penalty turns in sight of the camera...…….

Jenny and Paul definitely did theirs. You can see Jenny veering off towards the naughty step. I think she owes me one for next time though. Presumably Hector did about 8 turns to exonerate himself.

Please give the videos a thumbs up on Youtube. It helps promote them on the site and makes them more likely for Youtube to suggest them to people.
