Get Ready for a Nationals at Grafham (hopefully)

Post by Jenny Ball »

Hi All

Grafham have kindly confirmed that our TT at their October Cat Open can be converted to our 2020 National Championships. Obviously, much can change between now and then - but if you would like to attend, you will need to know the following:

Grafham need to restrict the overall number of entries to the Cat Open.
SO you must be ready to submit your entry as soon as GWSC open entries on their website.
Otherwise, if the event is flooded by other classes, we will miss out.

So be prepared ......

You will need to enter and pay via the GWSC website. We will let you know when we are told this is open.
We will then separately ask you to fill in a simple registration form to capture prize eligibility and discount eligibility.
Entry fee is £55. This includes event fees, takeaway lunch for Sat & Sun and a full range of prizes to befit a National Championships.
Discounts for first time and youth entries will then be refunded to you directly from the Association.

Full details will be in the Notice of Race - but some key info is as follows:
6 races - 3 back to back on both Saturday and Sunday.
We will have our own start. We will share a course with the Medium Cat fleet. (Same as previous years)
Nigel and Fiona Denchfield are our Race Officers - so the race management will be excellent.

Shorebased:
Camping and Campervan will be available on site for a small fee, via pre-booking. (Caravans not allowed).
Toilets are open but changing rooms and showers are closed. The clubhouse will close at night, portaloos provided.
One way systems in place and take away food service from the galley.
Unfortunately, no evening meal or AGM.

NOR for the Grafham at Open - including our 2020 Nationals - is now up on their Open Meetings website. https://www.grafham.org/sailing-racing/ ... tings.html

Presumably, online entries will open in the next day or so- so keep your eyes peeled.

Please get your entry in early as the overall numbers to the Cat Open event will be restricted and we don’t want to be outgunned by the other fleets getting their entries in first!

Once you have entered via the GWSC website (and paid) - we will ask you to complete a separate registration form with all the other info we need to run the Nationals.

Many thanks!

Jenny

Looks like the online entries will open on the Grafham website on Thursday 24th September. A restriction of 80 visitors to the event - so be poised to get your entry in as soon as possible!
