Other Winter Sailing options

Post by Bob Carter »

All catamarans are welcome to the Grafham Grand Prix which this year falls on the 29 December 2013.

This event is part of the Sailjuice Winter Series which keeps getting bigger and bigger (see the link below)

http://enter.sailracer.org/events/enter ... tid=179314

Not many of the events include cats but the events at Oxford, Datchet and Draycote also include the Sprint 15. :D

Cheers

Hi Andy
I take your point on looking at the NoRs.

The confusion arises on the entry screen. If you go to the entry screen, select a Sprint 15 some of the entry boxes disappear but you can enter on all the 4 clubs I listed above - yet the NoR do not agree for Oxford & Datchet. It looks like these clubs need to update their input information to the Great Lakes organisers (who take the entries).

Shame

After packing-up after the Grafham event, keep your boat on the trailer and drive to Thorpe Bay on the following Saturday (4th January 2014) for our annual Frozen Sheets race. It's an "open" all-in handicap where all classes are welcome. I understand the entry fee is £5 payable at the event. David and Jenny Ball will be there as they have entered for our entire winter programme. You can see their results in the races held so far. (Clubs link... Thorpe Bay YC.... racing results.... winter..... slow catamaran).

The TBYC Frozen Sheets Race has been put back. The new date is Sunday 5th January 2014, start 13.00hrs. This is to overcome a clash of local events. The Leigh SC's annual Brass Monkey Race is on the day before (the 4th) as planned.
