Two Weeks to Grafham!

Post by Jenny Ball »

Only two weeks to go to the next and final 2016 "summer" TT event on 22nd and 23rd October at Grafham!

Six races planned across the two days with an evening meal/social on Saturday night - as part of the bigger Grafham Cat Open weekend.

Advanced booking is required for this event which can be done online - http://www.grafham.org/events/grafham-w ... ting-2016/

Notice of Race is also available via our Events page.

Most of the Entries so far are Sprint 15s - although Stuart Snell seems to have registered with something called a Sprint 14 .......

Always a great event - we hope to see you there.

Can we drop the boats off at Stewartby on the Sunday to save on towing?

Hi Erling

I have asked Stewartby if they could accommodate that. I will let you know when I hear back.

Thanks!

The really big questions are:
1) Will Paul Grattage come - as I see he has already won the Summer Series? Second place is, however, up for grabs as number of people could be runner up.
2) If Paul does not come would anyone give him insurance on his arm? Last time he had already won without coming to Grafham he went mountain climbing instead and injured his arm. It took the best part of a year to recover, as I recall.
3) Will Erling or Paul find the Glass bowl of the Inland Championship Cup? Stuart Snell has been holding the base for the last year, but he points out it does not look the same on the mantelpiece without the bowl.
It looks like Jenny Ball has done wonders getting the Marconi Club on the road for the Grafham event. Will any club be able to match the Marconi attendance?
For the answer to all these questions why not come to Grafham and find out.

There's also the matter of the new team prize.

Don't worry about Paul. We don't need him at Shanklin until the Sport Nationals.

Has someone donated a prize for the travellers top team I do not know about? If so has the number of members of the team been specified? Also how is the calculation to be done? The one at the Nationals is for the top place 3 members of the same club and is calculated based on the minimum number of points (not places). Will this be the same?
Cheers
Bob

PS From your reply it is looking like the arm is in jeopardy again

That is my understanding. Erling's calculations on the back of an envelope are better than my coding skills though.

Is there really a new team trophy? What is it called? Or is it just that the winning team get's bragging rights and no trophy.
It does not seem to have been well publicised.....

I guess the question is whether the Team Trophy still only exists in the virtual world of the Sprint 15 forum - or whether it has taken on a tangible actual form - ie, has someone bought one? Commitment to do so pre-dates the replacement Events Secretary, I hasten to add.

If not, we will need to get one - otherwise all of Liam's coding will go to waste......

Not so. I just have not seen any details, or evidence that a trophy exists.
Lots of ideas get floated on the website but someone has to do something to make it a reality..............

I have ordered a new trophy to award as a Team Trophy. Hopefully it will arrive in time for Grafham - it would be good to be able to present it there.

I am assuming Liam will have the tech all ready to go to organise the results. If not, we will get Erling to do it. I might be a bit biased if its left to me to do.....

Thanks!

Never assume anything.

I am relying on Erling.
