The UK Sprint 15 Association

The first 40 years

Britain's most popular single handed catamaran

The Sprint 15 is a 15 foot catamaran designed to be sailed by one or two crew with mainsail or mainsail and jib. It consistently has the largest entry of any single handed catamaran class in British National events. The boat can be trailored or transported on a car roof and can be easily rebuilt, ready to sail with no tools in under an hour. Take a look at our welcome page or contact your local Sprint 15 sailing club to find out more.

There is now a range of Sprint 15 branded clothing available from Sportsclass Ltd.

TT at Marconi Sailing Club

Race Report
(Posted on: 15th April 2018 at 23:28 pm)
27 competitors took part in the first 40th Anniversary Sprint 15 Summer TT at Marconi SC on 14th and 15th April including an impressive home turnout of 13 boats.  We were also pleased to welcome Nigel and Fiona Denchfield as guest Races Officers for the event. In addition to the racing, we welcomed the winner of our competition at the Dinghy Show for a cat coaching session with Brian from Windsport.  As forecast, there was no wind in the morning but with a light breeze forecast for later in the afternoon it was decided to postpone racing for an hour.  With the AP dropped ashore, the fleet headed out to the race area off picturesque Osea Island in a pleasantly mild afternoon with a light breeze.

Nine boats took part in the Sprint 15 Teach In at Marconi on Saturday 7th April led by David Ball and Chris Tillyer. We were particularly pleased to welcome Armin from Brightlingsea who has just bought Gordon Deuce’s boat and ventured to Marconi for his first ever Sprint 15 sail. Also joining us was Jemma Clarke from Marconi who had her first proper sail in a Sprint 15, alongside her Dad and her brother and we hope she will join the fleet too! Donald Sloan travelled down from Felixtowe Ferry as did Rob Wilson from Stone – together with a home fleet.
