General News - Sprint 15 Training day at Marconi

Sprint 15 training day at Marconi Sailing Club, Essex

This training event is supported by the Sprint 15 Association and led by Howard Hawkes. 
Open to anyone who has a Sprint 15 - whether you are new to the fleet or looking to build on your existing skills!

An inclusive event - with practical sessions on land and on the water and plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion.  Support boat cover provided.  Refreshments will also be available during the day.

Planned schedule*

9am onwards  - arrive, rig and get changed

10am             -  briefing and bacon rolls (with boats rigged & in sailing gear)

Session 1         (ashore): (a) Boat preparation – looking at each boat briefly.

                                      (b) Basic techniques – tacking, use of traveller, etc

Session 2:       On the water practice

Session 3:       Lunch, followed by video reviews of session 2.

Session 4:      On the water - Practice starts and short races.

Session 5:       Video reviews of session 4, followed by a debrief.

* schedule subject to conditions.  If you have any particular areas you would like covered during the day - let us know in advance and we will see what we can do!

Participants are also welcome to leave their boats at Marconi SC for the following week - ahead of the Sprint 15 Association traveller event on 23/24 April 2016.
