General News - Chairman's report
Date Posted: 24th December 2017 at 15:15 pm

Hello everyone, another six months has flown by and we are heading into 2018, our 40th year. First I would like to thank other committee members for all their help, in particular Jenny Ball. In addition to this we have some new committee members, Erling Holmberg (southern rep) Gordon Deuce, Dave Warnock both general committee members & our new treasurer Nigel James. George Love is back for a one-off special helping to co-ordinate our 40th year celebrations.

We finally have some guidance on the class rules over the weight gate issue so at least that has been put to bed. One thing this issue did highlight is that our class rules need some updating as we have discovered various discrepancies that in the past have been overlooked. I'm not sure how many of these will be raised at this year's AGM as I think we need to concentrate on the core issues (40th celebrations and sailing).

The committee had a meeting at Grafham in October and it was agreed that we would have a stand again at the Alexandra Palace Dinghy Exhibition. It would be great to have a brand new boat on the stand so if anyone is thinking of buying and Brian is coming (not sure just yet as the Dart 18s are not) then it would be really great. We also need some volunteers for the weekend (Friday PM to setup, Saturday & Sunday) David Groom is co-ordinating to please let him know if you can assist.

Most of the TT's are booked in for 2018, watch the website for more information.

Nationals 2018

As most of you know our 40th National championships will be held at the 2012 Olympics venue, WPSNA. We are hoping make this a special event. To do this we need some additional sponsorship, if any member can assist or suggest a potential sponsor please can you let me or George Love know. Due to the next edition probably not being published prior to the championships all notifications will be published via the website www.sprint15.com please ensure you check this regularly for up to date information.

I will you all a merry Christmas, lets make next year the best supported for TTs & Nationals to date.

Chris
