New Photos in our photo gallery

Post by Bob Carter »

Hi Guys
Martin has recently added Liam Thom to the people who can upload pictures to our Sprint 15 website photo gallery.
Liam has been very active and has loaded many recent pictures on the website.
Take a look.

These pictures are not new new as most of the readers of the chat page will have seen the links to the Shanklin website (and others) where they have been posted before. Maybe this weekend Liam will get some new new ones from Draycote and we can be first to publish them. :D

Cheers

Bob

PS Happily our site does not host videos so those insomniacs who want a restful video to lull them to sleep will still have to go to YouTube to see Robert's latest long player

While I'm on the subject of videos we need some new material for us to show at the Dinghy Show on 1 & 2 March. I'm talking about exciting punchy bash/splash/crash stuff rather than Robert's video to sleep to :D

Sorry Robert that's twice in less than 24 hours. I don't know what you have done to deserve it, but it must have been bad :P .

It's late in the day I know but if anyone has got some stuff maybe Liam or some other smart techy type could piece it together for us with some music, etc.

Another option would be for someone to put a camera on the Flying Dutchman and to send Kevin out in a Gale. I always think it looks like an exciting time is being had when Kevin is sailing

Cheers

Bob

PS Where is Tom Gall when you need him :?

If I'd have known a couple of weeks ago I could have gone out in the storms with a few cameras. Plus Brian's big trailer of spares to repair bits afterwards haha :)

If you want me to publish any Draycote pictures you can email them to me at liam@islandwebservices.co.uk.

Alan was playing with his black and white film camera today so those pictures may appear in 2016.

Bob, you are so generous with your compliments - I hardly know what to say. I always try to tailor my work for my audience and there are many who should not get too overexcited. Thanks for your invitation to make a special, super exciting video for the Dinghy Show. I was looking forward to a new project but hadn't quite decided on the final direction it should take. I've discussed it with a few friends and some interesting ideas have been suggested for the storyboard. I think there should be lots of speed along with abundant spray, trapezing and quite a lot of Yahoos as Sprint 15 sailors enjoying a new lease of apparent youthful activity chase Dart 18's off the water. I've tried this with my new (ish) sail with only moderate success so I think that, in the interest of teasing the interest of the public at large, we need to use a little poetic license. With this in mind there are a few of us with the equipment guaranteed to achieve what I have described and plans are afoot to choose a date and venue with (say) force 3-5 winds to produce the desired effect for your sales pitch.
I can probably fiddle with the results in post production to hide the slightly darker and modern sails and maybe rub out the jibs if necessary. Trapezes might be a bit more difficult to hide but, hey, what about the poetic license? Any "extras" who would like to take part in the action would be welcome but we might have to do some cgi to include them in the final result as they would have to do their bits in turns.

Hi Robert,
Sounds dodgey to me. I think I'll play at being Lord Harlech............... if you see what I mean

Signs point to yes. Try to avoid being sectioned, however.
