Lost Jib - somewhat embarassed

Post by George Love »

I recently discovered, somewhat embarrasingly  , that my jib seems to have gone awol. I last had it at Grafham some 3 weeks ago. I remember taking it off the boat in the boatpark at the end of the event but don't remember putting it in my trailer box. I wasn't feeling terribly well, (I had been ill on the Saturday night - not self inflicted!) and was rather distracted after an 'on the water' incident. In the middle of packing up, I went off to the prizegiving so could have quite easily left it lying around. I have spoken to the club who tell me it's not in lost property. The only thing I can think is, that if I quite conceivably did leave it lying around, is it possible that someone may have picked it up, inadvertantly thinking it was their's. It was quite breezy so it could have blown away in the boatpark. So if anyone comes across a jib that doesn't look like theirs or finds they now have two, it could be mine. It doesn't have any distinguishing marks save for some thin red and yellow striped dyneema to tie to the bridle at the tack.
Any help on tracking it down will be gratefully received.
Many thanks
