Who's up for a bit of a Long Distance event?
Marconi have the annual East Coast Piers race coming up on the 5th and 6th July. For us 15 ers we do the shorter course of 27mile round trip whilst the fast cats go a bit further.
This is a great event with handicap racing on the Saturday and the distance race on the sunday. There's free camping on site on the Friday and Saturday nights and our facilities include large changing rooms, hot showers, large galley, bar etc... it is a great weekend check out the Marconi website and click the east coast piers link. And to tug at your conscience its all for Chaaaaaarity (in the words of smash and nicey)!!!
As even more of an incentive for those travelling for the Nationals the following weekend you can leave your boat at Marconi's and collect it on the way to Thorpe Bay save taking it all the way home again. (Promise we won't fill the hulls with lead or other heavy compounds....).
Ok I've rambled on enough now. Be great to see the 15 fleet there in numbers.
